Notera att det enligt svensk och finsk (och många andra länders) lag är omöjligt att helt avstå från de så kallade moraliska rättigheterna och att denna malls juridiska betydelse därför är oklar.

Verk som släpps under vanliga fria licenser

En licenskombination som kan rekommenderas är Creative Commons' CC-BY-SA-3.0 och GNU-projektets GFDL, som används bland annat av Wikipedia. GFDL ensam rekommenderas inte.

Mallar relaterade till Sverige

Mallarna är främst för

• vissa ofta använda svenska verk som är fria att använda för att deras upphovsrätt gått ut och
• vissa verk av myndigheter, som aldrig fått upphovsrättsskydd eller som släppts fria av myndigheten ifråga.

{{PD-Sweden-photo}} nedan är för äldre svenska foton vars upphovsrätt gått ut (märk skillnaden mellan fotografiska verk och fotografiska bilder).

{{Insignia-Sweden}} nedan är en varningsskylt för svenska heraldiska vapenbilder: vapnen skyddas av lagstiftning oberoende av upphovsrätten. Det är bara vad gäller den senare som vapnen är under fri licens.

This photograph is in the public domain, because either 50 years has elapsed from the year of creation or the photograph was first published before 1966. The §49a of the Finnish copyright law of 2005 specifies that photographs not considered to be "works of art" become public domain 50 years after they were created. The 50 years from creation protection period came into force in 1991. Before that the protection period was 25 years from the year of first publication according to the §16 of the law of protection of photographs of 1961. Material already released to public domain according to the 1961 law remains in public domain, and therefore all photographs (but not photographic works of art) released before 1966 are in the public domain. Section 9 of the Finnish Copyright Act specifies that no copyright exists in such material. (Link to the Act) This template does not apply to postage stamps first published after 1989. Because Posti- ja telelaitos was changed from an authority to a company in the beginning of 1990, postage stamps published by Posti- ja telelaitos were not anymore part of decisions by an authority. Most probably the copyright owner of postage stamps published after 1989 are Itella Oyj or the designer of them.
