- World map of population: It would be nice to have a world map similar to this, where the size of the country shows the population instead of geographical size. //moralist 19:29, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

With following conditions: Permission is hereby granted for the use and distribution by others of the text and figures on this page for noncommercial purposes. Go ahead and send them to your friends, post them on your blog, use them in school. Whatever. My only request is that you either give a link to this page or just mention that the maps were made by me. (Or both, if you're feeling particularly enthusiastic.). - World map of Mitsubishi elevators: I want a map, where all countries which have Mitsubishi elevators are red, and all other countries are gray. --84.61.188.59 14:59, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- It might be extremely difficult to compile a list of countries that have Mitsubishi elevators. With so many companies/institutions using their elevators since the 1930s, I doubt anyone could come up with that list. If you have a list, I'm sure we could create one for you easily. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 00:15, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

Physics[edit]

- A new spring balance.
- A new balance.
Thanks!--L TruthSon (talk) 12:03, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
Astronomy[edit]
This picture on this site is a striking illustration of the decrease of the Earth's axial tilt. It shows the Sun's light on the floor of the San Petronio Basilica in Bologne, Italy, on the day of the winter solstice. The light was exactly at the center more than two centuries ago; a shift, due to the decrease of the axial tilt, is clearly visible today. I can see a few uses for that picture or an equivalent one. I have imported a few images on Commons, but I feel I must ask for help for this one, especially for the question of rights. Thank you.

looking for a video of fluorine reacting[edit]
Can anyone help here...or point me to more places to ask for help?
I want a video (or perhaps a photo) of fluorine gas reacting with something. There is nothing PD (or even that I can think of as an easy donation). Looking for something like in the videos below. Will go into a Wiki Featured Article Candidate. Either someone to make it for us or who has it.

- If anyone can take a picture of the dodo head/skull and foot in the Oxford Museum, it would be very nice for the article. Also, if anyone comes across the National Museum in Prague, there's a fake dodo with some bones under it, a photo of these bones would be appreciated. FunkMonk (talk) 19:03, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Arachnids[edit]
- Latrodectus pallidus: From this animal, there is only one picture, and a bad stamp design. Since one could still, better pictures or more pure, I suggest, for example, before continuing to use than this, this and this picture.--Prianteltix (talk) 12:53, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- Peacock spider (Maratus volans): There is no picture of this spider on any wiki project. There are good pictures on this site, however they are quite possibly copyrighted, as stated on the bottom of this site. --Archangel (talk) 19:56, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Archangel, I have taken care of business! I have negotiated with the king of peacock spider photos, Dr. Jurgen Otto, and convinced him to graciously release one of his images at reduced resolution with a license allowing it to be used on Commons. The image is File:MalePeacockSpider.jpg and I have now added it to the articles on Maratus as well as Maratus volans. I think I picked a good one-- and I hope you like it as well! Perhaps we can consider this request to be officially fulfilled, yes? -KDS444 (talk) 10:05, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Oxyrhynchus Papyri[edit]
There are several Papyri already uploaded to commons (e.g: File:Oxyrhynchus 209 (p10).jpg). Yet I am in need for two more photos:

- [15] [16] or another photo with the same content and improved contrast.
Both photos will be added to corresponding wikipedia articles in several languages. Thanks--Giftzwerg 88 (talk) 10:48, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Photo from the Russian State Archive[edit]
For my article on the Russian preparliament during the Russian revolutionary period I would be greatful if someone could get hold of this picture and upload it into Commons. It is in the public domain both in Russia (as it was taken before the October Revolution) and in the US as it is from 1917. Thank you in advance!--Rowanwindwhistler (talk) 12:12, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Miscellaneous[edit]
- A free/GPL image of jet engine snow blower. Examples of unknown copyright status include [17] and [18]. Photo is for relevant Wikipedia articles. Zarnivop (talk) 00:19, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
- A free image of the Discworld-esque flat earth - you know, the world balanced on four elephants standing on the back of a turtle. Happy-melon 10:13, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- This image apparently comes from a book by Camille Flammarion (possibly the same one as the famous Flammarion woodcut), and is presumably PD. We could probably use the poster (per Bridgeman v. Corel), but it would be better to find the original source. This one looks even nicer, but has no information about the source. There's another very similar image here — it's not quite identical, but the details are similar enough that they're probably based on the same original. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 22:27, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Googling for the caption suggests that the Flammarion book the first image is from may actually be Histoire du ciel. Also found yet another version of the second image here. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 22:51, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- A free use image of the logo of the Gannochy Trust. Their website is http://www.gannochytrust.org.uk/ but unsure how to take the image from there, or what counts as free usage. CSJJ104 (talk) 17:25, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

- Bonjour,
